When Words Fail

I’ve tried to write a post about the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers. Multiple drafts, rewritten, but I just can’t find the words.

Perhaps that is just as well. It isn’t at all clear to me that what the world needs at the moment are the thoughts of a white man about the tragic death of an African-American. Many others, people of color, have already spoken, with words far more potent than I can muster. Now is the time to listen to their voices, and learn.
